About Our Fair

The Central Nebraska Science and Engineering Fair is a STEAM competition that showcases students from junior and senior high schools found in counties located along and west of Highway 281 in Nebraska. Geographically our territory is over 50,000 square miles. This fair has been held since 1975. This fair was previously hosted by the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska. This fair is now hosted by the Biology Department of the University of Nebraska Kearney and is judged primarily by professors of the University of Nebraska Kearney as well as academics and industry professionals across Nebraska.

Various cash awards and certificates will be given away recognizing outstanding research from our private and governmental partner organizations.

This science fair is an affiliate of the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The top high school project from this fair will have the opportunity to attend the International Science and Engineering Fair.
